What makes our lives colorful? What makes it so exciting, so varied, so worth living?
We humans strive for security, for a stable job, a partner, a structured daily routine. And that's a good thing, but often we forget to let a little color into our lives. In our minds, life is often black and white. Either or. We stick to rules that are familiar to us, we follow patterns that we know. The older we get, the less risk we are willing to take, the less color we find in our lives.
We should take an example from children, who look at life without prejudice, without fear and full of curiosity. Their young lives sparkle in all the colors of the rainbow. What do they have that we have forgotten? It is above all the unconditional lightheartedness that often gets lost over the years. That gets lost between job stress and starting a family, between the big and small tragedies of life. A grey film settles over the colors of our childhood and the sense for the beauty of bright colors gives way to reality.
We must plunge into the intoxicating colors of life, let go, lose control, live out our sensual side and let ourselves drift, dance through life, show feelings. Like a fish in water, we should plunge into the roaring ocean of life to feel truly alive. Because only then can we bring the colors we have lost back into our lives and perceive them consciously. This includes the dark shades that carry sorrow, as well as the bright, encouraging tones that make our lives shine with joy.
And we can find these colors everywhere: in flowers and fish and birds, in juicy fruits at the market, in fabrics, spices and in candy stores. Whoever keeps their eyes open, lets themselves drift, tries to see the world with the eyes of a child - will find the riot of color everywhere. Much more often we should just jump into a puddle again. Swim in the sea. Collect shells. Chase butterflies. Lie down in the lush green grass, still wet from the rain. Pick flowers. Eat too many candies. Count the dancing specks of color when the sunlight breaks in a prism.
Life is not black and white, it is an almost infinite palette of colors and we are the artists who can use the colors to reshape our lives, to give them a new look. It's up to us - we hold the pens in our hands and can consciously decide for more color in life.
Bring more colors into everyday life, feel lightness,
dance in the waves of the ocean of life -
desires that we absolutely should pursue.
