“An important concern in my artistic work is to foster understanding. I want to make it clear that different perspectives have a right to exist and that the world cannot be divided into black and white.
Biographically, I am very strongly connected with both Russia and Germany. My goal is to promote understanding and mutual appreciation even in difficult times.
In my new works, I use the metaphor of the bridge. It is an ancient symbol of connection and of a path. Women are generally a central theme in my work; for me, they symbolically represent the communication hub of our society. Women have a special natural gift of empathy; they create and maintain connections. Precisely these qualities are in high demand in difficult times.”
