The living room is where our lives become visible.
Not in terms of representation, but as an expression of what truly matters to us. This is precisely where it's decided whether a room is merely furnished – or whether it embodies an attitude.
That's why modern floral art for the living room holds special significance for me. As hand-painted originals, they not only change the atmosphere of a room but also the feeling with which one enters it. They are not mere decoration or a casual motif. They stand for sensuality, time, and inner movement. Floral art brings life into a room without being obtrusive. It works through color, depth, and presence – and through what remains palpable between the layers.
As an artist, I spent many years working with depictions of women. Some time ago, the desire arose to continue this emotional depth – without a female figure, but with the same elegance and sensuality. The bloom became the bearer of what has always interested me: beauty with substance. Elegance with emotion. And art that doesn't fill a space, but refines it.
1. Modern floral art vs. decorative flower pictures – what's the difference?
When we talk about flower pictures, many people mean something decorative. Something nice. Something quickly chosen so the wall isn't empty. Posters, prints from furniture stores – pretty, but interchangeable. They function like pillows or curtains: they fill a space without forming a relationship.
My relationship with floral art is different.
For over 25 years, as an artist, I've been exploring what art truly evokes within us. Why some pictures genuinely touch us. Why others leave us cold, even though they are "beautiful." And why we sense whether something was created with genuine devotion – or merely to please.
Flowers, as I paint them, are not random motifs.
I don't choose "beautiful flowers." I explore states. Moods. Sensuality. Symbolism. The bloom as a moment between becoming and fading. As an expression of strength and vulnerability simultaneously. This depth interests me – not a simple depiction.
It's important to me that art touches. But equally important to me are elegance. Beauty. A certain naturalness. The great challenge of my work lies precisely in this balance: How do you create works that are aesthetic – and yet have substance? That appear sensual – without being superficial? That beautify rooms – and yet move us internally?
This quest has accompanied me for many years.
And I believe you can feel it in my work. In the layers. In the decisions. In what remains visible – and in what is only hinted at.
If you want to buy original flower paintings, you will feel this difference. A hand-painted work carries time within it. Thoughts. Doubts. Courage. It enters into a relationship with you and your space. It is not neutral. And that's precisely what makes the difference.

2. Which floral artworks create harmony in the living room – and why?
Harmony does not arise from arbitrariness.
Nor from restraint in the sense of "as inconspicuous as possible."
I work with a color palette that is deep. Sensual. Earthy and at the same time elegant. Deep red, burgundy, royal blue, dark violet, black – colors that don't scream but support. Added to this are metallic accents that are used deliberately sparingly. No glaring shine. Rather a matte shimmer. Like aged gold. Like something that already has a history.
These colors have weight. They give the room stability. And their effect unfolds not immediately, but over time. The longer one looks, the more they open up.
It is important to me that my floral paintings work with both modern furnishings and old pieces. With sleek sofas, concrete, glass – just as much as with antique mirrors, wood, patina. I love this dialogue between present and past. Between clear lines and lived-in surfaces.
Perhaps that's why customers say my works "fit in" without being subordinate. They are present, but not dominant. They allow the space to breathe.
Floral art for the living room can have character.
It can have depth.
And it can possess a certain seriousness – without appearing heavy.

3. Why Art Deco, gold, and floral forms have such a timeless effect in the living room
Over a hundred years ago, artists and designers were fascinated by the world beyond Europe. By Asian art. By clean lines, ornaments, symbolism. These influences decisively shaped Art Deco. An era that uniquely combined elegance, structure, and sensuality.
After my trip to China, I felt this fascination myself very intensely. The stillness. The reduction. The power of deep colors. Suddenly, much seemed clearer to me. Also in my own work.
I began to paint floral motifs – without female figures. Without eye contact. Without body language. Just blossoms. Quite intuitively at first. I hung some of these works in my own living room. And honestly, I was surprised by their effect.
In the evening. At dusk. When the light softens.
That's when the metallic accents began to come alive. They reflected the light, changing depending on the viewing angle. The pictures suddenly seemed almost to breathe. Like a silent dialogue between space, light, and color.
This experience touched me deeply.
And it was the starting point for my Floral Glamourism series – a combination of floral forms, Art Deco aesthetics, and timeless elegance.
I wanted to share this magic with others.
Not as a trend. But as a way to give one's own living space a new dimension. One that connects sensuality, history, and the present.

4. What painting size is best for the living room?
The size of the painting is an important detail.
It is very crucial for the overall effect.
Especially floral art often unfolds its full presence only in larger formats. 70 × 100 cm, 100 × 100 cm, or beyond. A large-format work can unify a room. Give it a special aura. Hold it together.
I deliberately design many of my works so that they also function as multi-part pieces. Diptychs or compositions of three or four canvases. These can be hung flexibly – with more or less space between them. This creates oversized, highly individual wall solutions that can be perfectly adapted to your space.
Such works are particularly impactful in living rooms with high ceilings or generous wall spaces. They possess an almost architectural quality. And yes – I often recommend framing. Especially simple floater frames emphasize the depth and give the artwork additional support.
If you are unsure which size fits best:
I would be happy to advise you personally. Often, a photo of the room and a brief conversation are enough.
Because art should not only be beautiful and exquisite.
It should fit. You. Your space. Your life.

FAQ – Modern Floral Art for the Living Room
What distinguishes modern floral art from classic floral motifs?
Modern floral art is abstract, minimalist, and emotionally charged. It does not depict botanical details but rather moods and inner states.
Are the works hand-painted?
Yes. All works are hand-painted originals on canvas, built up in multiple layers and not reproducible.
Don't floral motifs appear too romantic for the living room?
Not if they are abstract and color-reduced. My works are sensual but clear – and suit both modern and classic interiors.
Which painting size is ideal for the living room?
That depends on the wall space and ceiling height. Formats from 70 × 100 cm often work particularly well.
Why are hand-painted floral artworks a good investment for the living room?
Hand-painted originals retain their effect for years. They are timeless, unique, and often gain emotional value the longer one lives with them.
Is a custom commissioned work also possible?
Yes. Very gladly. Size, color palette, and effect can be precisely matched to your space. I would be happy to advise you on this: info@ekaterina-more.com
