For the 50th anniversary of the German Playboy edition, artist Ekaterina Moré was invited to create an exclusive cover – sensual, strong, and stylish.
With her expressive visual language, she created a large-format painting that portrays two Playmates as modern Femme Fatales: self-assured, seductive – and full of symbolic power.
The work, titled "Playboy Bunnys / Sensual Seduction," depicts a blonde and a dark-haired woman in the iconic Playboy style, painted in acrylic on canvas. The white Calla lily, held by one of the two, symbolically represents masculinity – a deliberate counterpoint to the soft, sensual aura of the figures.
"I wanted to show two women who appear like wolves in sheep's clothing – strong, sexy, self-determined, and a little dangerous," explains Ekaterina Moré. "That's how I see the women in Playboy: They are not objects, but an expression of strength, style, and female self-confidence."
🎨 Artistic Freedom & Iconic Collaboration
The invitation to design one of the 50 exclusive anniversary covers was a special honor – and a creative challenge. "There were no specifications at all," says Moré. "I had complete creative freedom – a great compliment and trust from the magazine."
The cover series brings together works by renowned artists such as Vincent Peters, Michel Haddi, GABO, Cro, and Leon Löwentraut – and Ekaterina Moré is also part of this high-caliber selection. Her work appeared as one of 50 limited edition cover variants, thus representing a modern, artistic approach to the theme of eroticism and femininity.
Her typical style – clear lines, vibrant colors, stylized compositions – brings a new, feminine aesthetic to the classic Playboy universe. Instead of provocation, she focuses on subtle allure and emotional visual impact.
💃 Femme Fatale – Symbol of Female Self-Portrayal
The motif of the Femme Fatale has had many faces in art history – from Lilith to Mata Hari. In Ekaterina Moré's work, she becomes a positive projection surface: not as a danger, but as an expression of inner strength and magnetic presence. Her version is warm, approachable, but not submissive. She shines – and with full intention.
