Art Cruises with AIDA: Inspiration, Encounters & Emotion on the High Seas

Kunstreise mit AIDA - Ekaterina Moré in der Kunstgalerie

Art tours are more than just a vacation. They are food for the soul, ignition for creative sparks, an immersion into worlds that go far beyond the visible. As an artist, I have had the privilege of experiencing many such journeys over the past 15 years – aboard the AIDA fleet, amidst an open art concept that enables encounters, exchange, and genuine inspiration.
For me, art tours with AIDA Cruises combine two longings: the longing for self-realization and the longing for beauty. On the high seas, the perspective changes – also on one's own work. And it is precisely there, between the sea horizon and the gallery, that my art has grown.

1. The Power of Movement – Creativity Between Sky and Water  🌊

Flowismus in AIDA Kunstgalerie - Ekaterina Moré bei Künstlerreise

What happens when you try to paint precisely on a swaying surface? I vividly remember a journey through Northern Europe – high waves, my performance on stage. While I was painting live, the floor swayed beneath my feet.
But instead of resisting, I embraced it. I took the momentum of the sea into my brush. Fortunately, I work in a style that allows exactly that: Flowism – with flowing lines, soft transitions, lively movements. It wasn't easy, but it was honest. And the guests felt that too.
On an Asia trip, on the other hand, I captured hundreds of motifs – small details, lighting moods, exotic plants. I love taking photos on my excursions – as a visual treasure hunt. Later, these impressions flow into my works.
This trip gave rise to an idea for a series of paradisiacal motifs: lush gardens, turquoise waves, the glow of the tropics. Not as a mere depiction, but as lived joy of life – with the woman as a symbol of the soul at the center.

2. Thinking Artistically Means: Seeing the World with Different Eyes  🌊

AIDA Kunstreise mit Ekaterina Moré

The Atlantic coast of France touched me just as deeply. Places like Honfleur or Deauville exude an elegance that harks back to times gone by – an atmosphere that perfectly matches my style Feminine Glamourism.
The visit to Monet's house and garden in Giverny was a highlight. It was like walking through a living painting.
Such places open up one's view, they slow down thoughts. They show how valuable it is to enter the worlds of other artists to discover new facets of one's own perception.
Many AIDA guests I spoke with are passionate photographers – they show me their pictures, often with the phrase "Oh, it's just a hobby."
But there is so much feeling, so much love for the moment in their pictures.
You don't have to make everything a profession to do it with dedication.
Whether photography, drawing or writing – creative activities enrich our lives. They help us to pause, to feel, to create.
I am always happy when children or teenagers ask me questions – they experience art not from a school book, but live, from a real person with paint on their fingers.
And sometimes I see the spark ignite – then I know: That too is part of my work.

3. Painting with Sea Air – When the Studio Moves  🌊

Kunstreise mit AIDA Cruises - Ekateirina Moré

Working at sea is not comparable to the studio. The light is different. The colors suddenly appear more intense or muted, depending on the time of day. The salty air affects the drying of the paints. It takes patience – and a willingness to let go.
But what I especially love: the many conversations. On AIDA, they arise completely unplanned – at breakfast, at the bar, in the gallery.
Guests tell me what they see in my paintings – and I am often amazed at how different the interpretations are. That's exactly what I love: I don't want to dictate what should be seen. My paintings can be impulses – for their own stories, memories, fantasies.
By the way: I don't just find my models in professional photo shoots. Sometimes, the female captain, a gallery owner, or one of the lovely waitresses suddenly poses for me. I photograph them on board, capture their charisma – and later transform them into radiant figures in my paintings.

4. Elegance in Conversation – Art as Connection  🌊

Many guests tell me how much they long for more depth, for true elegance, and a sense of timelessness.
In a world that is moving faster and faster, my works act as small islands of deceleration.
Especially on cruises, when everyday life recedes into the background, there is again space for such experiences.
I remember many conversations full of openness – about life, about femininity, about the need for beauty.
My art does not want to instruct. It wants to remind – of style, of sensuality, of what makes us shine from within.

5. Open Galleries at Sea – Art to Experience  🌊

What makes the AIDA art galleries so special is their open, inviting concept:
No enclosed rooms, no inhibition threshold – but art as an integral part of life on board.
Here, you encounter art naturally – while passing by, browsing, or conversing.
I love it when guests simply stop, ask questions, and engage in conversation.
This authentic closeness is rare – and makes the gallery a place of genuine exchange.

6. Art Auctions & Blind Dates – The Magic of the Unknown  🌊

One of the most entertaining program points are the art auctions on board. The atmosphere is light, there is laughter, bidding – and sometimes real favorite pieces are created spontaneously.
A personal highlight for many guests: the "Blind Dates with a Work of Art".
A painting is hidden under a red cloth. Nobody knows what is underneath – until the highest bid. Only then is the work unveiled.

This playful approach opens hearts and makes art tangible. Many guests who previously thought "I don't know anything about art" suddenly discover that all it takes is a feeling.

7. Art Tours Touch Deeper – Because They Bring Us Closer to Ourselves  🌊

When we travel, we open ourselves – to new perspectives, new people, new impulses.
But often, in doing so, we primarily discover ourselves anew.
My art captures these in-between spaces: what we feel but rarely name.
A beautiful view. A detail. A moment that feels precious.
And if you enjoy photography, drawing, or writing:
An art tour can be exactly the impetus to turn to your creative side.
AIDA creates an atmosphere where you can not only observe the world of art but immerse yourself in it.
Sometimes a small experience is enough to open something within you.

8. Art as a Souvenir – for Your Home  🌊

You can find my artworks on board the AIDA ships in the AIDA Art Galleries. Many guests discover them there for the first time – often between two experiences, quite by chance, but with a lasting impression.
Whether you are interested in an original or a smaller work on paper – each work carries a story within it. And perhaps it is precisely the one you want to continue telling in your home.

My Invitation to You 🌊

If you love art.
If you long for inspiration.
If you want more than just beautiful photos when you travel – but memories that transform you.
Then an art tour with AIDA might be exactly what you've been looking for.
