Art Cruise with AIDA: From Kiel to the Caribbean – Colors, Waves & Encounters

Künstlerreise mit AIDA - mit Galeristen von Kunstgalerie

Sometimes a journey doesn't begin in port, but in an inner space – where inspiration is born.
On my route with AIDAluna from Kiel to the Caribbean, I experienced just that: colors, light, and encounters that enriched my artistic work. Between vast oceans and a quiet dialogue with nature, works emerged that reveal femininity, elegance, and emotional depth.

In the open atmosphere of the AIDA art gallery, where my original paintings are regularly exhibited, I meet people who are touched by my sensual female portraits – not because they are loud, but because they resonate with something within them.

This journey was more than a vacation. It was a return to the essence of art: to stillness, to longing, and to the radiance that arises when we come a little closer to ourselves again.

1. Art that dances with the ocean 🌊

Sometimes you don't need a brush to be inspired – a glance at the wide blue is enough.
My artist's journey with AIDAluna took me from Kiel via Portugal to the Caribbean – a route full of contrasts, full of movement, full of colors.

Between stormy seas, Caribbean warmth, and creative exchange on board, an experience emerged that not only influenced my art but also myself.

This journey was art in motion – and I invite you to experience a piece of it with me.

2. Bay of Biscay – painting to the rhythm of the waves 🌊

Bay of Biscay Storm

The journey began with a bang: the notorious Bay of Biscay showed its wild side.
High waves, strong winds – the ship danced on the ocean, and I was right in the middle of it – with easel and paint.

Painting under such conditions is a challenge. Every stroke becomes a decision, every sweep a dialogue with the sea.
But that's exactly what I love: my style "Flowism" – characterized by flowing lines and sensual transitions – can surrender to such movements.

The movement of the waves became part of the painting process. I stopped working against nature – and began to flow with it.
Many guests watched me, fascinated by how art could dance with the elements in real-time.

3. Calm over the Atlantic – the studio between sky and sea 🌊

A few days later, the mood changed.
The Atlantic became calm, the sky vast, the light soft.
Between Madeira and the Caribbean, an atmosphere emerged that is hard to describe – it was meditative, almost magical.

I painted on the balcony of my cabin, accompanied by the sound of the ocean, with an endless horizon before my eyes.
Here, my private retreat became a studio – a space where thoughts quiet down and colors can speak louder.

In such moments, it's not just a painting that emerges – it's a feeling.
Art as meditation.
Art as resonance.

4. Art on board – more than just an itinerary item 🌊

AIDA Cruises offers not only spectacular sunsets and salty sea air – but also a stage for art.
During my time on board, art auctions took place, which were more than mere sales events.

They were invitations to dive into the stories behind the pictures.
Many passengers showed genuine interest – they wanted to know what moved me, how a work came into being, what messages were hidden between the layers of paint.

These conversations are just as inspiring to me as painting itself.
Because when people are touched by my paintings, a silent bond is created – one that creates connection without words.

5. The woman as a symbol of the soul – in dialogue with the audience 🌊

In an open artist talk on board, I had the opportunity to share my thoughts.
I spoke about my central theme: the woman as a symbol of the soul – strong, radiant, sensual.
This encounter was honest, approachable, and profound.

Many listeners found themselves in my words – in the longing for beauty, depth, and self-connection.
Some came to me afterward to share their stories.
And I felt once again: art works where we encounter ourselves.

6. Caribbean inspiration – colors, forms, light 🌊

When we reached the Caribbean, everything changed: the light, the air, the intensity of the colors.
St. Kitts and Nevis, Dominica, Guadeloupe – each island seemed to play its own melody, with rich greens, glowing water, exotic blooms, and fascinating faces.

I almost continuously held my camera – not to capture perfect postcard motifs, but to collect moods.
A shadow wandering over a wall. A woman in a colorful dress against the light. A calm gaze. A vibrant color.

My travel photography is like a sketchbook for the soul.
Many of these impressions later flow into my works – not one-to-one, but as a feeling. As joie de vivre. As a memory of the special.

7. The camera as a second eye – art happens on the go 🌊

For me, photography on the go is an important part of my creative process.
It's not a byproduct, but a silent collection of impressions that are later translated into painting.

Often on board, I hear: "I also photograph – but only as a hobby."
And every time I think: What a shame that we devalue it so much. Because these "hobby pictures" often contain great passion. A very unique perspective.

Creativity doesn't have to be professional to be meaningful.
Whether through photos, sketches, or simply an inspired thought – travel gives us the chance to be creative.
It opens spaces. Inner ones too.

8. Encounters that last 🌊

What I particularly appreciate about such trips are the real conversations on board.
At breakfast, during a gallery visit, over a glass of wine in the evening, connections often form that are deeply touching.

I remember people telling me how long they had been longing for more beauty in their daily lives.
Or how much they felt understood by a painting – without being able to explain it.

Art is sometimes the beginning of a conversation with oneself.

On board, there is time for that.
Not like at a classic vernissage, where there is often haste. But relaxed, curious, open.
This kind of exchange is as valuable to me as painting itself.

An artistic journey 🌊

My artist's journey with AIDAluna was not an escape from everyday life.
It was a journey to myself – through art, nature, encounter, and color.

The Bay of Biscay taught me to dance with the unpredictable.
The Atlantic gave me peace.
The Caribbean inspired me.
And the conversations on board reminded me why I paint:
Because art connects. Because it touches. Because it lasts.
